How Much Do Gacha Machines Cost in Japan?
Current price examples, coin planning and a realistic budget for trying capsule-toy machines during a Japan trip.

A realistic current price range
Many current Bandai capsule-toy listings are priced around ¥300, ¥400 or ¥500 per turn, while larger or premium products can cost more. The official product page changes frequently and is the best place to see current examples. The price displayed on the physical machine is the amount that controls the purchase.
Why one machine costs more than another
Price usually reflects the product size, materials, licensing and complexity rather than the odds of receiving a preferred design. Paying more does not let you choose the capsule. Each turn is random within the lineup shown on that machine unless the display explicitly states another system.
How many coins to carry
Traditional machines commonly accept ¥100 coins, so several turns can require a surprising number of coins. Large official stores may provide change or other payment support, but travelers should never assume every machine accepts notes, cards or transit IC. Check the payment panel before exchanging cash.
Set a budget before choosing
A simple budget is more useful than chasing a complete set. For example, choose a total yen limit or a fixed number of turns across the whole visit, then stop even after a duplicate. Trading with strangers can create misunderstandings, so only participate where the store permits it and both sides clearly agree.
Price and inventory verification
Online product pages warn that posted content and actual store inventory may differ. Prices in this article are examples, not a guarantee for every machine. Our verified store pages provide official sources and invite dated field reports when the live price or payment method differs.
