We publish independent rankings and practical guides to places in Japan for international travelers. Rankings are editorial recommendations, not universal facts.
We prioritize official Japanese tourism organizations, municipalities, cultural institutions, transport operators and attraction operators. Facts are checked against the linked source and rewritten in our own words; source attribution does not grant permission to copy an article or photograph.
Each destination is considered across cultural value, scenery, access, uniqueness and resilience under visitor pressure. A score helps readers compare places, but it does not replace personal interests, mobility needs, weather or current local conditions.
English, German and Traditional Chinese editions carry the same core research. They are adapted for clarity rather than translated word for word. Place names follow forms that travelers can match to signs and official sources.
We use documentary photographs only when a reuse license or direct permission is identifiable. The creator, source and license are linked. We do not treat a freely accessible webpage as permission to copy its images.
